Should you have a Star Wars Marathon?
I came across an article about a cinema in Texas (Alamo Draft house Cinema) , who have set Star Wars fans the challenge of sitting through the entire space saga , followed by JJ Abram’s new episode on repeat , till only one fans remains.
The surviving fan will receive:
- A 7 year pass to Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas
- A variety of Star Wars Merchandise
- A cinema seat named in their honour, complete with naming ceremony
The cinema does have some strict rules though.”Sleeping, illegal drugs and talking and texting during the movies (of course) will result in disqualification and a swift trip to the Sarlacc Pit,” states the cinema. “However, for those strong enough to persevere, intergalactic immortality awaits.”

With such unreasonable restrictions on drugs and sleep, I am sure I would only be able to survive maybe the first 20 minutes.
This is why I have decided to carry out my own marathon, in the comfort of my own home, over a period of days and it seems the stars (cough, cough), have aligned in my favour.
Sky have unveiled a whole new channel dedicated to the complete Star Wars saga , in response to the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens which hits cinema screens on the 17th of December , my tickets are already booked if you were worried.
Here is the breakdown of the amount of time it will take you to complete the saga:
(I have put the films in order of the films story line rather than when they were released, confusing I know.)
So you will need to dedicate 13 hours and 37 minutes of your life to get through The Star Wars Saga.
